Spartan Named Northern Athletics Conference Women's Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week

Aurora University Spartan women’s soccer player freshman goalkeeper Liz Wong (Tucson, Ariz./Canyon Del Oro HS) was named to the Northern Athletics Conference Women’s Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 18, 2009.

Wong put in extra duty at the net in both Spartan wins this week recording wins in both decisions. She recorded a shutout in AU's 1-0 double overtime victory at Dominican University, and recorded three saves in the team's 2-1 overtime win against Marian University. Thus far on the season, Wong has a 9-4 record with four shutouts, a 0.97 goals against average with 48 saves.

Wong and the Spartan women’s soccer team are in action next on Saturday, October 24, 2009, when they travel to Lakeland College in a Northern Athletics Conference match-up. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m. in Sheboygan, WI.
