Spartans Named to Northern Athletics Conference All-Sportsmanship Teams

Aurora University had three members of their respective sports – men’s golf, women’s tennis and women’s
golf – named to the Northern Athletics Conference
All-Sportsmanship teams in their respective sports. 

To be selected to the NAC All-Sportsmanship team the individuals must have exemplified positive sportsmanship throughout the season.

Spartans that were named to their respective sport teams included junior men’s golfer Cameron Parker (Muncie, Ind./Delta HS), senior women’s tennis player Amanda Walden (Yorkville, Ill./Yorkville HS) and sophomore women’s golfer Emily Densmore (Aurora, Ill./Waubonsie Valley HS).

The Aurora University athletic program had 125 Northern Athletics Conference Scholar-Athletes for the 2008-2009 season.
AU has captured 100 conference championships since becoming an NCAA institution in 1982.
AU's men's athletic programs have captured each of the first three Northern Athletics Conference men's All-Sport Championships.
Spartan Football played its first contest in 1900 against East Side High in Mendota, IL.

AU men's lacrosse is the first NCAA men's lacrosse program in the state of Illinois.

AU Women's Soccer has won each of the first four Northern Athletics Conference championships
