The Aurora University Spartan baseball team had a player named the Northern Athletics Conference Baseball, Hitting Student-Athlete of the Week. Senior catcher
Ray Kosmicki III (Schaumburg, IL/Schaumburg H.S.) was named the NAC Hitter of the Week. On the week in which the Spartans went 5-1, Kosmicki had a super week leading the Spartans to their first appearance in the NAC Baseball Tournament, in the third season of the league. He hit .625 with three home runs, 11 runs scored and seven runs batted in. He had a 1.313 slugging percentage and .739 slugging percentage on the week, while also reaching base four times via hit by pitch and was two for two on the bases. On the season, Kosmicki is hitting a team high .411 with 10 doubles, five home runs, 33 runs batted in, 29 runs scored, 14 walks, 11 time hit by pitch, a .674 slugging percentage, .525 on base percentage and 10 stolen bases. The Spartan baseball team (27-11 overall; 16-6 NAC) travel to Northern Athletics Conference Tournament on Friday, May 8, 2009. Game time is set for 12:30 p.m. in Rockford, IL at Road Ranger Stadium.
