Spartan Named Northern Athletics Conference Softball Student-Athletes of the Week

The Aurora University Spartan softball team had junior pitcher Anna Snyder (Grayslake, IL/Grayslake H.S.) named the Northern Athletics Conference Softball Pitching Student-Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week. Snyder followed up her NAC Student-Athlete of the Week performance from a week ago with another outstanding week. She struck out 26 hitters and didn't allow a run in 11 innings pitched. She walked one and allowed only five hits in 38 opponent at bats. The Spartans went 5-0 on the week, improving to 16-3 on the season, while Snyder was 2-0. On the season, she is 10-2 with a 0.82 earned run average, 107 strikeouts in 66 innings pitched and opponents are hitting just .137 against (only 31 hits allowed). The Spartan softball team (16-3 overall; 9-0 NAC) is in action next on Wednesday, April 15, 2009, when they travel to Edgewood College in a Northern Athletics Conference match-up. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m. in Verona, WI. -END-
