Spartan Volleyball Drops Home Opener

The Aurora University Spartan Volleyball team dropped the 2009 season and home opener on Tuesday night to the University of Chicago Maroons 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-14).

The Spartans were led by junior outside hitter Amy Renolyds, who had a team high eight kills and 11 digs. Senior setter Cortni Ramm had 13 assists.

Maroon sophomore outside hitter Colleen Belak paced all hitters with 13 digs and she added eight assists. Sophomore Gabby Blackwell had a game high 27 assists and freshman libero Samantha Brown had 24 digs.

The Spartans fall to 0-1 while the Maroons are 1-0 on the 2009 campaign.
