Aurora University Spartan men’s golfer, sophomore Brandon Vicory (Aurora, Ill./West Aurora HS), was named the Northern Athletics Conference Men’s Golf Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 27, 2009.

On the week, Vicory led the Spartans to the Cress Creek Collegiate Invite Championship while bringing home the top medalist honors himself. In the one-day 36 hole tournament, Vicory finished at three-over with a 73 in the opening 18 and a 74 in the second leg of the 36-hole tournament. He finished five strokes ahead of three competitors, one being Spartan teammate, senior Shane Roland.

Vicory and the Spartan men’s golf team are in action next on Sunday, October 4 and Monday, October 5, 2009 when they play in the Milwaukee School of Engineering Invitational. Meet time each day is set for 10:00 a.m. in Milwaukee, Wis.
