Aurora University men’s basketball senior forward Shane Roland (Knightstown, Ind./Knightstown HS) was named the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) Men’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week.

Roland led the Spartans to a 2-0 week and back into the NAC South Division race. In AU's 80-75 win over Wisconsin Lutheran College, Roland became the 29th Spartan to surpass 1,000 points on his career, as he finished the night with 20 points. In AU's 84-57 win over Marian University, Roland had 26 points on six-of-eight shooting from three-point range and was 9-of-17 overall from the field. 

Thus far on the season, Roland is averaging a team-high 18.4 points, 4.0 rebounds and is shooting 49.2 percent from the field (117-of-238) and 43.7 percent (38-of-87) from three-point range.

Roland and the Spartan men’s basketball team will host Milwaukee School of Engineering on Tuesday, February 2, 2010. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. in Thornton Gymnasium.
