The Aurora University football program has teamed up to work with the children at Two Rivers Head Start Program.
The Two Rivers Head Start is a program to help prepare children from low-income backgrounds socially and academically for Kindergarten. The class is made up of mostly 5 year old students who missed the Kindergarten cut-off.
Members ot the Spartan football team from spring break through the remainder of the second semester will read stories and lead large group time which includes games, music and doing crafts. The Spartans set a positive example for the children who are seeking role models in their lives.
At a recent session an official Aurora University football was give to the class. The program runs Monday through Thursday with two sessions, a morning and afternoon class.
Monday's football participants include Mario LaBanca, Pat DeVries,
Billy Baker,
Lorenzo Williams,
Ben Medlicott, and
Peter Rizzi. With Josh Kieffer and
Kyle Trethewey making appearances on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
