In this week's Spartan Weekly Outlook, the AU fall sport teams are nearing the end of regular season games with conference tournaments and championship meets approaching. Winter sports have begun practice with hockey getting started.

Women's Soccer:
Record: 9-7 overall; 6-3 NACC

  • AU defeated Carthage 2-0 in their 2014 season.
• Alverno College – Wednesday, October 28 - Game time is set for 2:00 pm on Vago Field.
  • AU defeated Alverno 5-0 in their 2014 season.
• NACC Tournament - Benedictine University - Sunday, November 1 - Game time and place will TBD.
  • AU defeated Benedictine early this season 3-1 at Benedictine.

• Junior, Hannah Scahill, tallied two goals in the Spartans 5-0 blow out win against Lakeland College.

• Rockford University - Wednesday, October 28 - Game time is set for 3:00 in Rockford, Illinois.
  • The Spartans defeated Rockford 4-0 in their 2014 matchup.

• Junior, Jacob Goehring, tallied one goal and one in the Spartans 5-2 victory over Lakeland College.

 
Volleyball:
Record: 13-15 overall; 7-4 NACC

• Benedictine Eagle Classic - #14 Elmhurst College – Friday, October 30 - Game time is set for 2:00 pm in Lisle, Illinois.
• Benedictine Eagle Classic – North Central College – Friday, October 30 - Game time is set for 4:00 pm in Lisle, Illinois.
  • The Spartans split their two previous contests with North Central in 2014, winning 3-1 and losing 3-2.

 
Player to Watch:

• Freshman, Emily Lines, had 57 assists and 16 digs for a double-double in the Spartans last match against Marian University.

• University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point – Friday, October 30 - Game time is set for 7:30 pm in Geneva, Illinois.
• University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire – Saturday, October 31 - Game time is set for 7:00 pm in Geneva, Illinois.

 
Players to Watch:
Returners, sophomore Rihards Marenis and senior Michael Mikulan look to build upon their 2014 success. They each played in 17 NCAA games, Marenis had seven goals and 10 assists while Mikulan had had six goals and nine assists in the 2014 season.

• Wisconsin Lutheran College – Saturday, October 31 – Game time is set for 2:00 pm on Vago Field.
  • AU fell to Wisconsin Lutheran 24-21 in their 2014 matchup.

Player to Watch
Sophomore, Danny Logiurato led the Spartans in receiving with 10 receptions for 173 yards and three touchdowns in their overtime loss to Lakeland College.

  • AU took first out of ten teams competing in the NACC Conference meet in 2014.

Player to Watch
Freshmen Jackie Schane, finished 44^th in her previous race with a time of 22:29 at the AAE invitational. She broke her own freshman school record for the 6,000 meter race.

  • AU took second in the NACC Conference meet in 2014.

Player to Watch
Senior Calvin Robinson was AU's top finisher in the AAE Invitational, placing 117^th for scoring runners with a time of 26:10 in the 8,000 meter race.
