Spartan hockey drops game two of series with #9 St. Norbert

The Aurora University hockey team fell in game two of the NCHA series with the No. 9 ranked St. Norbert College Green Knights 7-1 on Saturday afternoon at the Fox Valley Ice Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Despite being even in shots 11 to 11 in the opening period, AU trailed SNC 3-1 after the first period.
The Green Knights scored three times in the first 11:10 of the game.
At 14:52 of the first period, AU got their first and what would be only goal from Tom Greene and he was assisted by Patrick Sofer and Andrew Bergquist.
St. Norbert scored twice in the second period at 3:30 and 4:31 to take a 5-1 lead.
The Green Knights added two more goals in the third for the final 7-1 score.
 
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
St. Norbert out shot Aurora on the night 34 to 30, 29 to 20 when even strength.
The Spartans recorded only four penalties for 8 minutes and the Green Knights recorded 10 for 31 minutes.
 
FOR THE SPARTANS
Tom Greene scored a goal for Aurora.
Patrick Sofer and Andrew Bergquist had an assist on the night.
 
FOR THE FOES
T.J. Black had 29 saves on the game.
Steven Philips won 11 of 13 face offs for St. Norbert.
Michael Hill had two goals for the Green Knights.
