Spartan men's basketball to host MS Day on February 4

On Saturday, February 4 when the Aurora University basketball teams take on Milwaukee School of Engineering  in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference doubleheader, the Spartan men's basketball program will be hosting a special event to raise awareness for Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

For the third year, the event is being spearheaded by AU men's basketball Head Coach Lance Robinson, who has first-hand experience on the severity of MS, the day's events are being held in honor of his mother Diane Robinson who battled the disease and sadly passed in
August 2014.

"We were very pleased with the fundraising and environment of the games each of the last two year's. Last year we did things a little different as the funds raised from the event went to a family that is affected by MS." said Robinson. "I feel the games the last two year's against MSOE and Edgewood College brought a lot of awareness to the disease and was fun day for all involved and I appreciated everyone's help and support. I don't know if we will ever top the game against MSOE in the first year from a dramatic standpoint. I will forever have the memory of Kalmon Stokes releasing the game winning shot in my mind because it was in front of a person who was in a motorized car, just like my mom and similar spot where she watched the games in Thornton. We look forward to this year's game and a quality opponent in Milwaukee School Of Engineering."

The third annual MS game will once again raise proceeds from a raffle and donations for a family affected by Multiple Sclerosis. The raffle will include autographed jerseys from the Chicago Blackhawks Duncan Keith and the Golden State Warriors Steph Curry and merchandise from the 2016 World Series Champion Chicago Cubs which includes an autographed bat from Addison Russell.

The men's game will tip-off at 4:15 p.m. with the women's game preceding with a 2:00 p.m. tip-off on Lancaster Court in Thornton Gymnasium.
