Quick Facts/FAQ

FAQ's

1. Does Aurora University give athletic scholarships?
Answer: NO. Because AU is a member of the NCAA Division III, it is not allowed to use athletic criteria in any determination of financial aid or scholarships. However, academic scholarships are available as well as work/study programs for those students who qualify. A large percentage of Aurora University students do qualify for some financial aid. However, their ability as athletes is of no consideration in the awarding of this aid. An official application for financial aid can be made after the Aurora University admission process is complete.

2. What areas of study does Aurora University offer?
Answer: The university offers major areas of study in Accounting, Actuarial Science, Art, Athletic Training, Biology, Business Administration, Business and Commerce, Coaching and Youth Sport Development, Communication, Computer Science, Criminal Justice, Elementary Education, English, Finance, Fitness and Health Promotion, General Education, Health Science, History, Management Information Technology, Marketing, Mathematics, Nursing, Organizational Management, Physical Education – Teaching Certification K-12, Political Science, Psychology, Religion, Social Work, Sociology, Spanish, Special Education, and Theatre as well as pre-dental, pre-law, pre-med and pre-veterinary programs.

3. How much will it cost me to attend Aurora University?
Answer:
The cost of tuition, room and board for the school year is $25,850. In addition, there are the costs for books, a $100 activity fee and transportation, which vary for each individual. Although this annual cost is significant, it is still well below the average cost of a private college education.

4. How personalized is the educational experience at AU?
Answer: One advantage of a smaller school like AU (approximately 2,300 undergraduate students) is that a strong sense of family is developed between the faculty/staff and student body. A faculty to student ratio of 1:15 allows professors to take time for their students, not only during class or office time, but with extracurricular activities as well. You are an individual, not a number at AU.

5. How do I contact a coach?
Answer: If you have questions for any of our coaches or staff, please visit our Athletics Staff Directory. If you are a prospective student, you can also fill out a recruiting form (located on each sports' page of this website), which will be e-mailed to the coach of that sport.
