Northern Athletics Conference Announces Postseason Volleyball Awards

NAC First-Team All-Conference selection, Senior Jill Smart
The Aurora University Spartan women's volleyball team had three players named to the Northern Athletics
Conference (NAC) All-Conference teams following the 2009 season.

AU senior middle hitter Jill Smart (Round Lake Beach, IL/Grayslake H.S.) was selected to the NAC All-Conference First-Team, junior outside hitter Amy Reynolds (Schaumburg, IL/Schaumburg H.S.) was named NAC Honorable Mention All-Conference and freshman middle blocker Brittany Budimier (Shorewood, IL/Joliet Catholic Ac
ademy) was selected to the NAC All-Freshman and All-Sportsmanship Team.

On the season, Smart led the Spartans with 2.95 kills and 0.86 blocks per set and was named to the AU Jim Coleman Classic MVP and All-Tournament Team. Reynolds averaged 2.30 kills and 3.59 digs per set and was named to the Monmouth College and Rose Hulman Institute of Techonolgy All-Tournament Teams. Budimier, in her first collegiate season, averaged 1.47 digs and 0.43 blocks per set.

The Spartans finished the 2009 season with a 17-15 overall record and were 9-3 in Northern Athletics Conference play.
