Aurora University men's track and field thrower senior Tom Sroka (Justice, IL/Argo H.S.) was named Northern Athletics Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending January 17, 2010. 

Competing in the indoor portion of the Spartans' schedule, Sroka provisionally qualified in the weight throw for the 2010 NCAA Indoor Championships in his first meet of the season (University of Chicago Phoenix Invitational). He won the weight throw with a mark of 17.31 meters and finished second in the shot put (15.43 meters), just behind AU teammate Adrian Kibiersza.

Next action for the Spartan men's track and field team comes on Saturday, January 23, 2010, when they travel to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Invitational. Meet time is set for 10:00 a.m. in Whitewater, Wis.
