The Northern Athletics Conference announced the 2009-2010 women's basketball All-Northern Athletics Conference awards. 

Spartan freshman guard Becky Gifford (Madison, Wis./Edgewood H.S.) was named the 2009-2010 NAC Women's Basketball Conference Freshman of the Year as well as Second-Team All-Conference and NAC All-Freshman Team. 

On the season, Gifford averaged a team-high 15.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game. She shot 43.2 percent from the field (142-of-329), 28.0 percent from three-point range (21-of-75) and 69.6 percent from the free-throw line (80-of-115).

Joining Gifford with NAC post-season award honors is senior center Brianna Leland (Beaver Dam, Wis./Beaver Dam H.S.), who was named to the NAC All-Sportsmanship Team by the NAC women's basketball coaches. 

On the season, Leland averaged 5.9 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. 

AU's women finished the season 9-16 overall and 6-12 in the NAC.
