Aurora University men's track and field throwers, senior Adrian Kibiersza (DesPlaines, IL/Maine West H.S.) and senior Tom Sroka (Justice, IL/Argo H.S.) qualified for the 2010 NCAA Division III Track and Field Indoor National Championships. The indoor championships will be held Friday and Saturday, March 12-13, at DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind.

In the 2010 Indoor National Championships, Kibiersza will be one of 16 competitors in the shot put. Entering the meet, he has the 11th best mark on the season at 16.26 meters (53' 4-1/4”). His best throw came last year at the indoor national championship when he threw an AU school record of 16.46 meters (54” 0”).

Sroka will compete in the weight throw as one of 14 competitors. He enters the meet with the 9th best mark on the year at 18.35 meters (60' 2-1/2”).

Both Kibiersza and Sroka reached the 2009 NCAA Division III Track and Field Indoor National Championships and are looking to repeat their strong performances from a year ago. In the 2009 Indoor Championships, Sroka and Kibiersza both earned 2009 Division III Men's Indoor Track and Field All-American honors following their respective performances.

Sroka earned his Indoor All-American honors in both the weight throw and shot put at the Championships. He finished fifth in the weight throw with a throw of 17.37 meters (57' 0") and eighth in the shot put with a throw of 15.94 meters (52' 3.75"). Kibiersza earned his All-American honors in the shot put at the Championships. He finished fourth in the shot put with a school record throw of 16.46 meters (54' 0").

"We are excited and proud of Adrian and Tom on their qualifying onto nationals for the second consecutive season and reaching another milestone for our track and field program. Their performances this season have been extraordinary and we look forward to seeing them compete against the best Division III throwers in the country,” AU Track and Field Head Coach Ryan Chapman said.

Kibiersza and Sroka will be in action at the NCAA Division III Track and Field Indoor National Championships on Friday, March 12, at 5:00 p.m. in the weight throw and on Saturday, March 13, at 1:00 p.m. in the shot put. The meet will be at DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind.
