The Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) announced the 2012 men's tennis All-Conference Team and
The Aurora University men's tennis team placed two players on the NAC All-Conference Singles-Team, four players on the NAC All-Conference Doubles-Team, one player on the NAC All-Sportsmanship Team.
Freshman singles players
Ricky Hernandez (Yorkville, Ill./Yorkville H.S.) and
Brian Koski (Yorkville, Ill./Yorkville H.S.) were named to the NAC singles All-Conference team after competing as the top two singles players for the Spartans on the season. At No. 1 singles, Hernandez held a 10-8 overall record and was 7-2 in the NAC, while Koski played No. 2 singles and finished with a 10-9 overall record and was 6-3 in the NAC.
The four Spartans named All-Conference in doubles included Hernandez, who went 7-2 in NAC action with his doubles partners. Fellow freshman
Matt Butler (Cary, Ill./Marian Central Catholic), junior
Anthony Emmanouil (Sugar Grove, Ill) and senior
Brett Wilder (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North H.S.) were named doubles All-Conference by the NAC. Butler held a 5-5 doubles record, while Emmanouil was 5-2 in doubles and Wilder was 6-3 in doubles. Wilder also was selected for NAC All-Sportsmanship Team honors.
The AU men's tennis team finished the 2012 season with a 7-9 regular season record and 6-3 in the Northern Athletics Conference.
