Aurora University swept the Midwest Lacrosse Conference (MLC) Player of the Week Awards for the week ending March 31, 2013. Junior Garret Rosiek (Blue Bell, Penn./WissAhickon H.S.) was named the Offensive Player of the Week with fellow junior Jack Barry (San Diego, Calif./Rancho Bernardo H.S.) named the Defensive Player of the Week.
Rosiek and Barry led AU to a 15-8 win over Huntingdon College in the Spartans only contest of the week.
Rosiek, an attackman, had eight points, three goals and five assists in the Spartans’ win. He added four ground balls to his offensive out-put. On the season, Rosiek leads AU with 47 points and 26 assists to go along with 21 goals and 33 ground balls.
Barry, a defensive-midfielder, had two goals, seven ground balls and caused four turnovers in the AU victory. On the season, Barry has 10 goals, three assists for 13 points while defensively causing 16 turnovers and picking up 36 ground balls.
Next action for the Spartan men's lacrosse team, currently 6-3 overall and 3-0 in the MLC, comes on Wednesday, April 3 when they host Elmhurst College. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m. on Vago Field.
