Aurora University football senior Justin Gibbons has been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Special Teams Student-Athlete of the Week.
 
Gibbons made the play that clinched the 28-27 victory over Benedictine University and was selected as the ESPN "Sportscenter" Top Finish of the Day and D3football.com Play of the Week when he jumped over the Eagles' line and blocked the PAT try in overtime.

The block and resulting victory sealed the Spartans share of the 2016 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Championship. AU finished 2016 with a 6-4 overall record and were 5-1 in the NACC.
