Aurora University Athletics

D3football.com announced the 2016 All-Region Teams and Aurora University senior linebacker Kam Dawtyne was selected as a Second-Team All-North Region honoree.

Dawtyne was the lone Spartan on the All-Region teams following his being selected as the 2017 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Defensive Player of the Year and First-Team All-Conference. 

On the season, Dawtyne led AU with 90 tackles with 55 of those being of the solo variety, 4.5 coming for a tackle for loss and one quarterback sack. He added two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one pass break-up. 

In four seasons at AU, Dawtyne accumulated 205 tackles with five interceptions one of which he returned for a touchdown.

The Spartan football team finished the 2017 season with a 5-5 overall record and 4-2 in the NACC.
