Aurora University junior Sam Owens is this week's AU Student-Athlete of the Week after being named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Position Player of the Week.
 
Owens hit .500 (11-of-22) with three doubles and one home run while driving in eight runs and scoring two more as the Spartans went 4-2.
 
On the season for the Spartans (6-2 overall), Owens is hitting .448 with one home run, three doubles, nine runs batted in and three runs scored.
 
Next action for the Spartan softball team comes on Thursday, March 15 when they host the first home contest on Spartan Softball Stadium at Spartan Athletic Park. AU welcomes Wheaton College for a non-conference doubleheader with game one starting at 4:00 p.m. in Montgomery, Illinois.
