Aurora University sophomore Reilly Armstrong was named the Midwest Women’s Lacrosse Conference (MWLC) Defensive Player of the Week.
Armstrong was the defensive weekly award winner after she went 2-0 with allowing only nine goals per game and making 10 saves. With the pair of victories, Armstrong and the Spartans clinched another appearance in the MWLC Tournament. In the pivotal 11-4 win over Loras, which had a winner advances to the tournament implication, Armstrong was stellar in goal, allowing the AU offense to pull away in the second-half.
On the season for the Spartans (10-7 overall, 7-4 MWLC), Armstrong has a 10-7 record with a 9.43 goals against average and 111 saves.
Next action for the Spartan women's lacrosse team comes on Friday, May 4, 2018 when they travel to Hamline University for the 2018 MWLC Tournament. Game time is set for 11:00 a.m. in St. Paul, Minnesota.
