Aurora University junior goaltender Chiara Pfosi was named the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Women's Defensive Players of the week, the league office announced today.
For Pfosi, this week's honor is the third NCHA Defensive Player of the Week recognition this season and fourth of her career. She posted her second shutout of the year and NCHA-best ninth victory as AU defeated Trine University 2-0 in the Spartans first contest of 2020. The game against Trine was non-conference with Pfosi making all 25 saves that came her way
On the season, Pfosi has allowed 1.82 goals against per game with two shutouts, a .940 save percentage and a 9-3 record.
Next action for Pfosi and the Spartan women's hockey team comes on Saturday, January 11, 2020 when they host Northland College. Puck drop is set for 7:00 pm at Fox Valley Ice Arena in Geneva, Illinois.
