Aurora University junior goaltender Chiara Pfosi was named the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Women's Defensive Players of the week, the league office announced today.
For Pfosi, the weekly honor is the fourth NCHA Defensive Player of the Week recognition this season and fifth of her career. She posted her fourth shutout of the year and NCHA-best 13th victory as AU swept Trine University in an important weekend series, winning 3-2 and 1-0. The shutout victory against Trine saw Pfosi make all 37 saves on shots sent her way. Over the two games, she made stops on 64 of 66 shot attempts.
On the season, Pfosi has allowed 1.77 goals against per game with four shutouts, a .940 save percentage and a 13-6 record.
