The COVID-19 outbreak forced the sudden cancelation of the NCAA winter and spring sports seasons. Over the coming weeks, the Aurora University athletic department will be highlighting senior student-athletes. We will start with the seniors from the spring who had their seasons cut short and were unable to have a senior day ceremony.

Senior Spotlight: Colin Rivard (Baseball)

Major: Accounting (Currently in MBA Plus One)

What are your plans after graduation? In June, I will be heading to Minnesota for a training program with Federated Insurance, where I will be a marketing representative.

What is your most memorable/best academic experience at AU? Graduation 2019. Got to play a NACC doubleheader instead of going to the ceremony. Awesome day!

What is your most memorable athletic moment at AU? Winning our first NACC tournament championship in 2018. Best feeling in the world.

Other than the sport(s) you play; what other sports activity are you good at? Basketball is my go to sport after baseball.

Outside of sports, what is your favorite hobby or activity? Watching sports and going to Cubs games.

What AU faculty or staff member had the greatest impact on you and why? Coach Stevens. I've had a lot of ups and downs throughout my time at AU and coach stuck with me through it all. I'll be forever grateful for that.

What do you enjoy most and least about practice? I love how we practice with a purpose. We dedicate the entire 2 hours to improving. Only thing I don't like about practice is when it is at 6:00 a.m.

Do you have any pregame rituals? Pray for our health and safety in between sprints, the handshakes with Paul, Bach, Coach Moga, and Joe, in that order.

What advice would you give to underclassmen at AU? Don't take being a college athlete for granted. Embrace the grind, the brotherhood, and opportunity to keep playing baseball at a high level.

If you had to listen to one song on repeat forever, what would it be and why? On the River by Young Dolph because it always gets my blood pumping.

What is something that people may not know about you but should? I've seen The Office 24 times.

If you could spend an hour each with three people (past or present), who would you choose and why?
Peyton Manning - childhood hero.
JFK - to hear the truth about his assassination.
Barry Bonds - to take hitting lessons from the GOAT.
