Throughout the 2020-2021 year, the Aurora University athletic department will highlight the senior student-athletes. The seniors will provide some insight to their time at AU while getting to know them as individuals they have grown into in their time as a Spartan.
Senior Spotlight: Taylor Davis (Football)
Major:Â History
What are your plans after graduation? To travel the country.
What is your most memorable/best academic experience at AU? The road trips with the team and getting to see the states I've never been too.
What is your most memorable athletic moment at AU? Making it to the NCAA Div III playoffs and getting to experience how electrifying the environment was for that game.
Other than the sport(s) you play; what other sports activity are you good at? I am good at Basketball and track and field.
Outside of sports, what is your favorite hobby or activity? Video games and learning to play my ukulele.
What is your favorite meal in the cafeteria? Pasta.
What AU faculty or staff member had the greatest impact on you and why? The coaching staff for the football team has had a big impact on the fact that they gave me an opportunity to not just play football but to travel as well.
What do you enjoy most and least about practice? I enjoy the energy of the team at practice but I dislike the music choice at times.
Do you have any pregame rituals? I usually do a prayer on one knee before every game and I send a kiss up to my grandparents watching down on me.
What advice would you give to underclassmen at AU? To live life and enjoy the experience of college. It's a long road and you will meet a lot of people. Use that opportunity to discover something about yourself or to learn about someone from an entirely different state/culture than what you may be used too.
If you had to listen to one song on repeat forever, what would it be and why? Three little birds by Bob Marley because the song is relaxing and wholesome which puts my mind at ease. Just listening to the beat itself is enough to make my day better.
What is something that people may not know about you but should? I am mixed with Japanese as black and I have strong roots in both cultures.
If you could spend an hour each with three people (past or present), who would you choose and why? If I could spend one hour with three people, two would be my grandpa and grandma on my dad's side because I never got to see them in love and happy together my entire life since my grandma passed before my birth. The third would be President Obama because I was always interested in his time in office and his decision making even when the cards were stacked against him most times as president.
