Throughout the 2020-2021 year, the Aurora University athletic department will highlight the senior student-athletes. The seniors will provide some insight to their time at AU while getting to know them as individuals they have grown into in their time as a Spartan.

Senior Spotlight: Brock Harner (Football)
Major:Â Graphic Design/ Business
What are your plans after graduation? I want to design and work for a sports company near home.
What is your most memorable/best academic experience at AU? Getting a 4.0 GPA is always good.
What is your most memorable athletic moment at AU? I would say the whole experience of going to St. John's and almost pulling off the programs first playoff win.
Other than the sport(s) you play; what other sports activity are you good at? I'm also pretty good at basketball, volleyball, and I like to say golf but some may disagree.
Outside of sports, what is your favorite hobby or activity? I love just hanging out with my family and friends
.
What is your favorite meal in the cafeteria? I'm not too picky with the food but the chocolate milk is the best, especially after a long day of practices and meeting.
What AU faculty or staff member had the greatest impact on you and why? I would say coach Beebe because he has taught me countless lessons on the field and off the field. I wouldn't be the player or man of God without him in my life.
What do you enjoy most and least about practice? I love seeing guys step up and praying before each practice and the whole practice is a blast. Since we never condition there is nothing I don't like about practice.
Do you have any pregame rituals? Before every game I go out to the field and just sit and pray for a bit. I also listen to worship songs because that is what helps me stay calm and focus.
What advice would you give to underclassmen at AU? Do as much as you can because you'll make a lot more memories that way.
If you had to listen to one song on repeat forever, what would it be and why? I would choose "Voice of Truth" by Casting Crowns or "Red Letters" by Crowder because they are my favorite songs.
What is something that people may not know about you but should? The reason why I take a knee and bow my head after every touchdown I score is because what coach Beebe taught me back in high school. Give all the glory to God because He is the only reason I am able to play this game.
If you could spend an hour each with three people (past or present), who would you choose and why? First person is Jesus because he is the son of God and the savior of the world. Second would be Tim Tebow because he is one of my favorite athletes. Third would be Abraham Lincoln because he did so much for our country and he is one of my favorite president.
