Throughout the 2020-2021 year, the Aurora University athletic department will highlight the senior student-athletes. The seniors will provide some insight to their time at AU while getting to know them as individuals they have grown into in their time as a Spartan.
Senior Spotlight: Hannah Gwillim (Women's Hockey)
Major:Â Marketing
      Minor:  Psychology
What are your plans after graduation? I plan to move to Denver and work in the marketing field.
What is your most memorable/best academic experience at AU? Probably taking my Marketing Research course last semester because going in I thought I would not enjoy that subject, but I ended up loving it. It turns out reading data can be fun after all.
What is your most memorable athletic moment at AU? For hockey it would be going 8-0 to start the 2019-2020 season, and for lacrosse it would be beating CUW for the first time in program history.
Other than the sport(s) you play, what other sports activity are you good at? I love to golf. I have golfed on and off from a young age and I originally was going to come to AU for golf.
Outside of sports, what is your favorite hobby or activity? I like to write music and play guitar.
What is your favorite meal in the cafeteria? Breakfast.
What AU faculty or staff member had the greatest impact on you and why? Dr. Shapiro because he is a great teacher and person. He is always positive, funny and has a lot of knowledge.
What do you enjoy most and least about practice? I love flow drills and getting to play the sport I love with my friends, but I would be okay without Coach Jackie's shuffles!
Do you have any pregame rituals? I try not to get too superstitious with my pregame, but I will always take a Dunkin' coffee on game day if I can get my hands on one.
What advice would you give to underclassmen at AU? Don't blink; college goes by faster than you think.
If you had to listen to one song on repeat forever, what would it be and why? You Make My Dreams (Come True) by Daryll Hall and John Oates because it always boosts my mood, and I would feel like my life is a movie with it playing in the background daily.
What is something that people may not know about you but should? I would like to write a book someday. I am not sure what about just yet, but I love to write and it is a goal of mine.
If you could spend an hour each with three people (past or present), who would you choose and why? I would choose my Grandpa, Elvis, and Post Malone. My Grandpa because he was a WW2 vet and lived through The Depression and there are a lot of things I would like to ask him about his life that I didn't get around to, Elvis Presley because he has been my idol from a young age musically, and Post Malone because I think he would be a really fun person to hang out with.
