Aurora University senior forward Nick Helmer (Geneva, Ill./Geneva HS) was named the Northern Athletics Conference Men’s Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 24, 2010. The award is the second for Helmer on the season. 

Helmer was involved in each of the Spartans' two victories last week. He had the game-winning goal in the Spartans’ 1-0 victory on Sunday over Lakeland College and he also had a goal earlier in the week in AU’s 7-1 win over Wisconsin Lutheran.

On the season, Helmer has a team-leading 10 goals and five assists for the Spartans, who are ranked seventh in the latest NCAA Division III Central Region rankings.

Helmer and the Spartan men’s soccer team are in action next on Thursday, October 28, 2010, when they travel to Benedictine University. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. in Lisle, Ill.
