Aurora University senior linebacker Marcellus Romious was named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Football Defensive Players of the Week as selected by a panel of the NACC Athletic Communication professionals.

Romious earned the award after he helped lead the Spartans to a 56-7 victory over Concordia Chicago with a team-high 10 tackles, including five solo stops and 2.5 tackles for loss. He also secured the play of the game with a 100-yard interception return for a touchdown.

On the season, Romious shares the team lead in tackles with 22, has 2.5 tackles for loss, three pass break-ups and the one interception which resulted in a touchdown.

Next action for the Spartan football team comes on Saturday, September 24 when they travel to Rockford University. Kick-off is slated for 1:00 p.m. in Rockford, Illinois.
