The Aurora University Spartan women's wrestling team made their first trip to the Midlands Women's Championships on Friday at NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.Â
Alexis Janiak led the Spartans with a second-place finish in 130.

Alexis Janiak went 3-1 and a second-place finish at 130. She won her three matches all by 10-0 tech falls.

Natasha Markoutis went 2-2 at 130, falling in the consolation semi-final.
Next action for the Spartan women's wrestling team comes on Thursday, January 12 when they travel to Carthage College in a dual meet. Meet time is slated for 6:00 p.m. in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
