Kionna King have been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Softball Student-Athletes of the Week, as selected by the league's athletics communications professionals.
Madelyn Buske - NACC Pitcher of the Week
Buske went 2-0 last week with victories over North Central (Ill.) and Alverno. She tossed a three-hit shutout as the Spartans posted a five-inning run-rule victory over the Cardinals (12-0). Against the Inferno, Buske allowed one run on eight hits in a complete-game effort as the Falcons picked up the 4-1 victory.
On the season, Buske has a 4-7 record with a 2.67 earned run average with opponents hitting .269 against her.
Kionna King - NACC Position Player of the Week
King hit .667 (8-of-12) during a week that saw Aurora split a doubleheader with North Central (Ill.) and sweep Alverno. She posted multiple hits in three of the four contests. Of King's eight hits, four were doubles and one was a triple. She also drew a pair of walks.
On the season, King is hitting a team-leading .354 with six doubles, a triple, two home runs, 12 runs batted in and nine runs scored.
Next scheduled action for the Spartan softball team comes on Friday, April 7 when they are scheduled to travel to Lakeland University. First-pitch of the NACC doubleheader is slated for 1:00 p.m. in Plymouth, Wisconsin.
