Aurora University forward
Enrique Gonzalez was named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Men's Soccer Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week, as selected by the league's athletics communications professionals.
He earned the NACC honor after he scored four goals and added an assist in a week in which AU went 2-0 with a season-ending victory over Benedictine and a 5-2 NACC tourney win over St. Norbert. The two goals in the win against Benedictine were his 59th and 60th career goals which made him the all-time goal scoring leader in AU men's soccer history. He would then add two goals and an assist in the NACC quarterfinal game win over St. Norbert.
On the season, Gonzalez leads the Spartans (10-5-4 overall and 8-2-2 NACC) with 51 points on 22 goals and nine assists. The 22 goals ties the single season mark set by Terry Rock (1980) and Gonzalez (2023).
Next scheduled action for the Spartan men's soccer team comes on Wednesday, November 6 when they travel to the semi-final round of the 2024 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Tournament. AU takes on Edgewood College with opening kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Madison, Wisconsin.
