Aurora University football defensive lineman JP Chaney was named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Football Defensive Player of the Week as selected by a panel of the NACC Athletic Communication professionals.

Chaney intercepted a pass in the Eureka end zone for a touchdown, had two sacks, and three tackles in limited action in AU's 56-0 win over the Red Devils to close out the regular season.

On the season, Chaney has a team-leading eight sacks with 36 tackles, 11.5 of which are tackles for loss and the one interception.

Next action for the Spartan football team comes on Sunday, November 17 when they learn their opponent and game information for the 2024 NCAA Division III playoffs.
