Aurora University outside hitter Josh McLellan doubled down on his weekly awards recognition this week when the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced the NCAA Division III Men's Volleyball Player of the Week today. Just hours after earning the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Offensive Player of the Week, McLellan was named the AVCA National Player of the Week.

The honor was bestowed on McLellan after he helped AU run its record to 6-0 this season with three wins on Friday and Saturday, including a sweep of No. 4 Cal Lutheran. In the three matches he collected 54 kills, hit .395, and averaged 4.91 kills per set on the week. In the upset of Cal Lutheran, McLellan had 17 kills, after posting 20 kills vs. North Park and 17 against Nazareth. He becomes AU's second AVCA Division III Player of the Week honoree, joining Jack Fischer (Feb. 26, 2019).
