www.aurora.edu) – Aurora University Spartan softball sophomore catcher Tristan Wilcox (Lafayette, Ind./McCutcheon H.S.) was named Northern Athletics Conference Softball Position Player of the Week for the week ending May 1, 2011. The award is the third consecutive week an AU player has won the award and fourth time in the past five weeks.
Wilcox led the Spartans to a 6-0 week while hitting .706 with five doubles and three home runs, driving in seven runs and scoring 10 runs. She had a .773 on-base percentage while slugging 1.529 on the week. Eight of her 12 hits went for extra bases.
On the season in which the Spartans are 30-8 overall and 20-2 in the NAC, Wilcox is hitting .413 with nine home runs, 12 doubles, 32 runs batted in and 33 runs scored. She has a .482 on-base percentage with 15 walks, two-of-two in stolen bases and a slugging percentage of .736.
Next action for Wilcox and the Spartan softball team comes on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 when travel to Benedictine University. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m. in Lisle, Ill.
