Aurora University Athletics in conjunction with BSN Sports proudly announces the recipients of the BSN Spartan Athletes of the Week award. The honors are earned based on the student-athletes performances on their respective playing surface the previous week.

This week's honors go to AU student-athlete, junior Juan Madrigal of men's basketball.

Juan Madrigal, men's basketball - 
Madrigal earned the honor after he fueled the AU offense in a 2-0 week with wins over Dominican and Marian. The two wins tied and set new program marks for consecutive wins (now at 15) while he averaged 32.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game. He shot 56.8% (25-44) from the field while going a perfect 11-of-11 from the free throw line. In the Spartans 95-83 win over Marian, Madrigal poured in 40 points, the fourth most by a Spartan in the NCAA era while shooting 60.9% from the field. In AU's win at Dominican he collected a double-double from his guard position with 25 points and 10 rebounds.
