Aurora University junior Drew Schmitt (Batavia, Ill./Batavia  H.S.) has been named Northern Athletics Conference Men's Cross Country Student-Athlete of the Week for the third straight time.

Schmitt won the Division III portion of the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcon Classic with a time of 25:55.3. His time was also good for third in the overall combined standings of the Division I and Division III finishers. Those were run as separate races. In winning the event, Schmitt led AU to a third-place Division III finish.
 
Schmitt received NAC honors the previous two weeks after winning the Waubonsee Chief Invitational and finishing ninth in the AU Spartan Classic.
 
The next action for Schmitt and the men's cross country team comes on Friday, September 23, when they travel to the Augustana College Invitational. Meet time is set for 5 p.m. in Rock Island, Ill. At Saukie Golf Course.
