Aurora University Spartan sophomore forward Scott Laskowski (Bloomington, Ind./Carmel HS) was named the Northern Athletics Conference Men's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Jan. 15, 2012.
Laskowski averaged a double-double on the week (23.0 points and 13.5 rebounds) and led the Spartans to a pair of conference victories.
In AU's 67-58 victory over Dominican University, the sophomore forward led the Spartans with 31 points and 18 rebounds, which included seven offensive boards, and he added four blocked shots in the contest. In the 65-52 win at Maranatha Baptist, he scored 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting, and added nine rebounds and three assists.
On the season, Laskowski is averaging 16.6 points and 9.0 rebounds per game.
Laskowski and the Spartans are currently 8-7 on the season and 4-3 in the NAC. Laskowski and the Spartans are in action next on Thursday, Jan. 19, when they travel to Benedictine University. Game time is set 7 p.m. in Lisle, Ill.
