Aurora University defender Corey Loubert (Grand Rapids, Mich./Forest Hills Central H.S.) was named Midwest Lacrosse Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending April 15.
Loubert, a sophomore, led the Spartans to a 1-0 week with the lone win over Carthage College in overtime, 7-6. The win improved the Spartans' record to 8-3 overall and 4-1 in the MLC.
In the win at Carthage, he held the Red Men's leading scorer to just one goal and also added a ground ball. On the season, Loubert has 14 ground balls.
Next action for the Spartan men's lacrosse team comes on Wednesday, April 18, when they travel to Milwaukee School of Engineering. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. in Milwaukee, Wis.
