Spartan Weightroom / Fitness Center

On August 12, 2012, Aurora University had their grand opening of their new state of the art weight room. After demolition and design, the new addition has doubled its existing square footage to 3,600sq/ft. The brand new flooring is partial Mondo Ramflex and Mondo Sport Impact from Kiefer and provides the athletes with proper cushioning during warm ups and exercises.

This extra space now allows approximately 60-70 athletes to train at one given time, whereas only 15-20 could safely train in previous years. The 9, state of the art, UCS Power Racks allows the strength and conditioning coaches to train athletes through sport specific movements. This state of the art facility gives the athletes the tools they need to improve performance, while minimizing the risk for injury in sports.

The AU weightroom is located on the lower level of Alumni Hall below Thornton Gymnasium.
