The Aurora University men's cross country team finished 8th out of 20 teams at
the Illinois Intercollegiate Meet at Olivet Nazarene University and also finished eighth at the Concordia University Wisconsin Invitational.
At the Illinois Intercollegiate meet, AU's top finisher was freshmen
Matt Meyers finishing 54th with a time of 26:25.9. Other top 100 finishers included freshman
Jimmy Baeskens (68th – 26:40.5), junior
Malik Dorris (75th - 26:56.1) junior
Nick Cole (76th – 26:57.8) junior
Brandon Miller (98th – 27:30.5) and freshman
Luke Miller (99th
– 27:34.3).
Other Spartans finishing in the race included sophomore
Grady Schroeder (102nd – 27:43.6), junior
Pete Jaros (103rd – 27:45.9), freshmen
Ben Ervin (119th - 28:28.7) and sophomore
Nick Quiroz (121st – 28:35.4).
At the Concordia Invitational,
D.J. Wolfram led the Spartans finishing 42nd with a time of 27:59.9. Spartans that scored with Wolfram were
Dan Morgan (52nd - 28:25.4),
Doug Belling (53rd - 28:27.3),
Calvin Robinson (57th - 28:35.2) and
Kevin Crozier (60th - 28:43.7). 11 more Spartans competed in the race.
Next action for the Spartan cross country team comes on Friday,
September 27 when they travel to the Brisman/Lundeen Invitational at Augustana College. Meet time is set for 5:45 p.m. in Rock Island, Ill.
