The Aurora Men's Cross Country team traveled to compete in the Benedictine Eagle Cross Country Invitational at the St. James Farm Forest Preserve Friday, October 10, 2014. Out of the fifteen teams Aurora placed second.
 

The top finisher for the Spartans was sophomore Matt Meyers. Meyers placed 8th out of 186 competitors in the 8k race with a time of 26:09.98.. Other Spartans who placed in the top 30 at the Invite were sophomore Jimmy Baskins finishing in 15^th with a time of 26:27, junior Calvin Robinson (22^nd- 26:39), freshman TJ Pitcock (24^th- 26:42), sophomore Alex Duncan (26^th- 26:44), and senior Brandon Miller (28^th- 26:53).
 

Other Spartan finishers were junior Nick Quiroz (31^st- 26:55), sophomore Ben Ervin (32^nd- 26:56), senior Nick Cole (33^rd- 26:56), sophomore Luke Miller (34^th- 26:58), sophomore Nick Shaw (37^th- 27:06), sophomore Ryan Fromm (50^th- 27:36), sophomore Ricky Perkins (57^th- 27:52), senior Matt Swanson (60^th- 27:56), freshman Michael Delaney (66^th- 28:00), sophomore Dan Morgan (67^th- 28:04), freshman Anthony Barrios (72^nd- 28:14), senior Gonzo Ganzalez (81^st- 28:30), sophomore D.J. Wolfram (89^th- 28:48), senior Doug Belling (105^th- 29:24), freshman Bruce McCaffrey (115^th- 29:40), sophomore Cody MdDougall (116^th- 29:43), freshman Aaron Lehman (118^th- 29:51), freshman Anthony Herchenroeder (119^th- 29:51), sophomore Josh Sopczak (137^th- 30:42), and freshman Dylan Schatz (140^th- 30:53).
 

Next action for the Spartan cross country team comes on Saturday, October 18 when they travel to the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh for the Brooks Invitational. Meet time is set for 11:00 a.m. at Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne, Wisconsin.
