AU men set new standard at NCAA Midwest Cross Country Regional

The Aurora University men's cross country team competed in the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional Championships Saturday November 15, 2014 at the Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne, Wisconsin. The men placed 14th out of the 44 competing teams.

The Top finisher for the AU men's cross country 8k race was sophomore Matt Meyers. Meyers placed 73rd in the region with a time of 25:48. Also placing in the top 100 were sophomore Jimmy Baeskens placing 80th with a time of 26:05, freshman T.J. Pitcock (89th- 26:17) and junior Calvin Robinson, (93rd- 26:20).

Other finishers for Aurora were senior Brandon Miller (102nd with a huge personal best of 26:27), junior Alex Duncan (116th - 26:48), and senior Nick Cole (139th- 27:12).

The Spartan men broke the NACC record for the least amount of points scored in a regional race.  They also tied the 2009 Edgewood men for the highest NACC regional finish. With 5 of their top-7 returning next season, the future looks very bright for the Spartan men.
