The Aurora University men's tennis team swept the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference contests on Saturday, April 19 defeating Marian University 9-0 and Edgewood College in a thriller 5-4.

AU swept doubles action to start the match with the duos of
Ricky Hernandez and
Brian Koski winning 8-1,
Blaine Hrovat and
Jake Lipka won 8-2 and
Michael Hohm and
Phillip Molley won 8-1.
In singles, Hernandez won 6-0, 6-3, Hrovat won 6-0, 6-2, Koski won 6-0, 6-0, Lipka won 6-0, 6-0, Hohm won 6-0, 6-0 and Molley won 6-1, 6-0.

In the second match of the day, an intense thriller was in order. The Spartans took a 2-1 lead after the doubles completed competition. Hernandez and Koski lost 8-4, Hrovat and Lipka won 8-4 and
Matt Butler and Molley won 8-0.
As action moved to singles play, Hohm won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 6 singles and Lipka won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 while Hrovat lost 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2 to give AU a 4-2 lead with three matches still playing.
Butler secured the win for the Spartans as he won at No. 4 singles 6-2, 6-4. Koski played out his match falling 6-4, 6-4 and Hernandez fell 6-3, 6-3.
But the jubilant Spartans celebrated a win over NACC power Edgewood 5-4.
With the days sweep, AU is now 6-4 overall and 6-1 in the NACC. Next action for the Spartan men's tennis team comes on
Saturday, April 26 when they travel to Wisconsin Lutheran College (10:00 a.m.) and Milwaukee School of Engineering (2:00 p.m.) in Milwaukee, Wis.
