Box Score 2 A Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference baseball doubleheader was on tap Sunday afternoon as the Aurora University Spartans traveled to Mequon, Wis. to take on the Falcons of Concordia University Wisconsin. The Spartans and Falcons split the doubleheader with CUW winning game one 9-2 and AU winning game two 5-3.

CUW took the lead in the fourth inning with two runs on two hits off Hart.
In the sixth inning, Spartan sophomore catcher
Rafer Cooley hit his first collegiate home run to tie the game 2-2.
CUW regained the lead in the sixth inning with an unearned run off Hart for a 3-2 lead.
Trailing by one AU came to bat in the top of the ninth inning. Cooley led off with a walk and moved to third on a passed ball and sacrifice bunt by
Ryan Rybakowski. Head Coach Lane Stahl went to his bench and freshman
Steven Jaquez to pinch hit. Jaquez came through with a triple to left center field to tie the game. Jaquez scored one hitter later when sophomore
Nick Turner reached on an error by the center fielder that brought home Jaquez. Turner then stole second and moved to third on a
Tanner Oymaian fly out that brought up Walczak. Walczak singled to center to give AU a 5-3 lead as Turner crossed the plate.
Spartan
Henry Erickson came on to close out the game for AU and despite giving up one hit, he earned his first save of the season.
Walczak went four for four in game two, while Cooley was one for three with a home run and two runs scored and Swain was two for four.
With the split, AU is now 7-14 overall and 3-3 in the NACC. Next action for the Spartan baseball team comes on
Wednesday, April 9 when they travel to Milwaukee School of Engineering. Game one is set for 3:00 p.m. in Milwaukee, Wis.
