In the 11th running of the AU Spartan Cross Country Classic at Oakhurst Forest Preserve on Friday evening, the Aurora University men's cross country team won the meet for the first time in 11 seasons. The Spartans outdistanced Harper College 57 points to 62 with AU freshman TJ Pitcock capturing the individual championship with a time of 26:55.1.
Joining Pitcock in the top 20 and scoring for the Spartans were
Matt Meyers (eighth - 27:23.7),
Nick Cole (14th - 27:41.7),
Jimmy Baeskens (15th - 27:47.9) and
Ben Ervin (19th - 27:56.1).
Rounding out the Spartans finishing in the top 65 of the 163 runner race were
Luke Miller (28th - 28:15.6),
Brandon Miller (37th - 28:34.8),
Ryan Fromm (39th - 28:40.4),
Calvin Robinson (41st - 28:44.6),
Nick Quiroz (44th - 28:51.8),
Nick Shaw (51st - 29:07.7), DJ Wolfram (54th - 29:15.2),
Roberto Gonzalez (62nd - 29:30.5) and
Dan Morgan (65th - 29:38.7).
