The Aurora University women's bowling team returned to action at the Western Illinois University Leatherneck Classic. The Spartans took on 23 teams, finishing 17th and posted a 4-6 overall record.
On Saturday, November 14, the schedule consisted of traditional contests with the Spartans having a 4-2 record. AU opened with three straight wins over Maryville University (690-373), Clarke University JV (827-672) and University of Wisconsin - Whitewater JV (750-731). The Spartans then fell in back to back matches to Midland University (889-700) and Iowa Central Community College (698-679). AU then finished off the day with shooting an 814.
Skyla Strum had the top AU average with a 163.16 and
Ashley Tamraz had the best game with a 202 against Clarke.
Day two of the Classic on Sunday brought Baker matches with the Spartans having an 0-4 record. AU opened play with a 677-549 loss to Baker University before falling to University of Wisconsin - Whitewater in a close match (663-661), William Penn University (686-602) and Hastings College (824-692).
The Spartan women are now 8-15 overall on the season. Next action for the Spartan women's bowling team comes on

Sunday, January 10 at the Roto Grip Eagles Baker Classic.
