?After winning the first game of the day in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Baseball Tournament, the Aurora University Spartans tookon the hosts from Concordia University Wisconsin in an elimination game. The Spartans fell 3-1 behind a solid pitching from Tyler Findlay and Brent Bergeson.

The Spartans fell behind 1-0 in the third inning but with one out in the fifth, a rally was started. Jeff Gersch picked up the Spartans first hit with a single to left. A single by Ryan Rybakowski followed that moved Gersch to third and the next batter, Mike Chervin laid down a perfect suicide squeeze to score Gersch and the game was tied 1-1.

Findlay settled in after scattering five hits over the first four innings to keep Concordia off balance and the score remained tied heading to the seventh. In the bottom of the inning, a lead off single moved along to third with two outs and AU Head Coach lifted Findlay for Bergeson. The first batter Bergeson faced hit an inside the park home run and Concordia led 3-1.

AU would get the tying run on base in the ninth with singles from Dillon Popovich and Gersch in the inning but the final out was made without a run being able to score and the Spartans fell to the Falcons 3-1.

The loss concludes the Spartans season with an overall record of 23-20 and a fourth-place finish in both the regular season and conference tournamnt.
