The Aurora University men's cross country team showed up to compete at their home meet, the AU Spartan XC Classic, placing second out of 11 teams.

AU senior Calvin Robison led the way for the Spartan men, finishing sixth overall by running a lifetime best of 25:56 for the 8,000 meter race. The men's team as a whole had an especially impressive day, with every member of the top 7 runners running faster than 27 minutes.
           
The rest of the top seven men's times and places were as follows. Jimmy Baeskins (12^th-26:15), Alex Duncan (13^th-26:19), Nick Quiroz (15^th-26:23), Edward Chanon (18^th-26:40), Nick Shaw (19^th-26:41), and Christian Barajas (26^th-26:54). Also finishing in the top 30 for the Spartans were sophomore TJ Pitcock (27^th 26:55) and freshmen Jordan Sherman (29^th 26:58).

Next action for the Spartan men comes on Friday, September 25 when they travel to the Augustana College Brissman-Lundeen Invitational. Meet time is set for 5:45 p.m. in Rock Island, Illinois.
